Momentum Race Group, Godstone Ranch Motorsports, and Karen Garrett confirmed today LRPG and Banner Racing will run the #07 Corvette “heart” car at the Rolex Grand Prix of Miami dressed in the stunning victory red livery of the Texas Heart Institute. To punctuate the weekend’s charity effort, Godstone Ranch announced it will also partner with Momentum Race Group of Dallas on the #05 Riley Camaro GS entry in the Continental Tire Homestead 200. Both entries will benefit Houston’s Texas Heart Institute. Despite an early end to Godstone Ranch Motorsports’ effort at the 2010 Rolex 24, the team’s real success was measured by the overwhelming response to the “heart” car and the team’s primary aim of highlighting Texas Heart Institute’s groundbreaking stem cell research.

Momentum Race Group - Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Camaro being loaded onto the trailer for the trip back to DallasWell, our first Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge  race is in the books. It has been a long winter preparing and testing for this event, but you never know how it is going to turn out until you are actually at the track.  For the most part the weekend was smooth, slowly figuring out the cars with each session.

The biggest issue we had was the huge disadvantage in power compared to the new Fords and BMWs, which are nowhere near as heavily-restricted as our engines.  We were over 8 mph down on the BMWs, and over 4 mph down from the Mustangs.  Combine that with Daytona’s insanely long straights, and it is basically a lost cause. Hopefully Grand-Am will look at the results and dyno some engines so that the rules can be made more even for all competitors. Click to read more
