Leveraging its professional racing experience and team principle’s years of high performance street car fabrication, Momentum Autosports is a one stop shop for car enthusiasts.

Lewisville, TX – Momentum Autosports, home of Momentum Race Group, has finally opened its doors to the general public.  Initially supplying fabrication, race prep, engineering and support for its own Camaro GS.R’s in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series.  Momentum Autosports has been busy expanding its Lewisville operation over the last 6 months, taking on outside clients on a case-by-case basis.  As the business grew, they secured the services of Robert Hahn as Shop Manager, an ex-ALMS Porsche team manager and lead mechanic.  This and other key personnel additions now allows Momentum Autosports to make its services available to the public for both race cars and performance street cars. #06 Orr and Musser show well, #05 Nowicki and Altenburg in trouble early

DALLAS, TX – February 8th, 2010 – Momentum Race Group drivers Daniel Orr and Jordon Musser put on a great show, starting from way back in 35th to move up to finish in the top ten in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Fresh From Florida 200 at Daytona International Raceway in their Amsource Capital/Monster Graphix Camaro GS.R number 06.  Jeff Nowicki and Jeff Altenburg were not quite as fortunate, as starting driver Nowicki was caught up in an early race incident that resulted in the Oakland University Systems Evolution Center Camaro GS.R  number 05 car being retired with suspension damage.  “I hate it for the team, they worked so hard to put a fantastic car together for the race and then to go out so early – it’s just frustrating,” said Nowicki on the subject. Momentum Race Group - Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Camaro being loaded onto the trailer for the trip back to DallasWell, our first Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge  race is in the books. It has been a long winter preparing and testing for this event, but you never know how it is going to turn out until you are actually at the track.  For the most part the weekend was smooth, slowly figuring out the cars with each session.

The biggest issue we had was the huge disadvantage in power compared to the new Fords and BMWs, which are nowhere near as heavily-restricted as our engines.  We were over 8 mph down on the BMWs, and over 4 mph down from the Mustangs.  Combine that with Daytona’s insanely long straights, and it is basically a lost cause. Hopefully Grand-Am will look at the results and dyno some engines so that the rules can be made more even for all competitors. Click to read more

Momentum Race Group’s dedication to winning keeps attracting racing’s best talents.  In addition to a strong leadership from Crew Chief TC Kline, who has already won championships in Grand-Am competition, MRG has selected Ron Carroll as car chief.  Ron’s meticulous nature showed when he and driver Jeff Altenburg won the 2007 SPEED World Challenge Championship and never failed to finish a race or qualification session.  Ron has past experience in Grand-AM and makes his return to full time duty with MRG.
