Momentum Race Group 2010 Camaros at Watkins GlenHaving run at the front at the last two events, Momentum looks to finish there in Utah.

The last two GRAND-AM events have been up and down for Momentum Race Group and their Momentum Autosport Camaro GS.Rs.  Running in the top 5 for the first half of the race at Mid-Ohio, before losing the car to an incident with a fellow competitor, and then a solid drive to second by talented Ryan Lewis at New Jersey only to be thwarted by an engine expiration.  The whole team at Momentum Race Group is excited about the final event of the year at Miller Motorsports Park back again with drivers Jordon Musser and Ryan Lewis. Team Shows Fantastic Improvements At Recent New Jersey Motorsports Park GRAND-AM Race

Following their front-running performance at Mid-Ohio, Momentum Race Group was once again headed to the front of the field before encountering bad luck.  The 06 Mobotix / nfcm.us / Eborhood.com Camaro GS.R of Ryan Lewis and Jordon Musser had worked its way up to 2nd after starting 11th at the midway pit stop / driver change.  Lewis’ solid run up front was short-lived though, as the engine expired in spectacular fashion less than 10 minutes after the driver change.

Meanwhile, the 05 Camaro GS.R of Chris Gleason and Jeff Altenburg went a lap down early in the race, but was able to fight back onto the lead lap and finish 15th in class after starting 23rd.  Not exactly where the talented duo wanted to finish, but they still celebrated success in fighting their way back to the lead lap before the end of the race. Amazing run to the front, ends with disappointment as the 05 Camaro GS.R ended its day early.
Lewisville, TX – June 24, 2010 – Momentum Race Group’s all-pro team of Jeff Altenburg and Jordon Musser put on a great show during the recent GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Emco Gears Classic at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.  After starting 10th, they fell back to 12th, then rallied to move aggressively into 4th.  The starting driver Jordon Musser was able to pick off nearly a car a lap without so much as a scrape on the car.  Musser was looking for a way around the third place Ford and second place Chevy when a BMW got a run on him on the right side going through thunder valley heading into turn 12.  The two touched which sent Jordon into a tire wall, ending his day early.
“It is a real shame for the whole team.  Everybody worked so hard and a mistake on my part ended the day early for us”, said Musser.  “Our car was incredible on used tires. Once we got to about lap 4 of the run, the car was perfect. A BMW got a run on us on the outside leading to turn 12.  He had less than a ¼ car length on me so I couldn’t see him, when I started moving right to setup for 12 he decided to hold his ground and essentially “pit maneuvered me” out of the way.  Jeff Altenburg was extremely fast and I wish he could have got a chance to flex his muscle in the race.  But at the end of the day that is racing, and we proved we have a car that can run up front”, said an emotional driver and team manager Jordon Musser.
“The performance of our program was very evident on track this weekend. We put two professional drivers in the seat and ran up front.  Even though we took a few races off, Jordon’s engineering never took a day off and we continued to learn what we could with our testing program, the dyno and data from previous races.  Momentum Race Group is ready for our first podium and ultimately we will get to the top soon”, said team owner Ray Butler
Momentum Race Group is currently working on a driver and sponsor lineup for the last 3 events of the season and also lining up talent for the 2011 season.
MRG offers “Arrive & Drive” seats in the 2010 Riley Camaro for individual races, as well as full season rides. Interested parties should contact Jordon Musser through the Momentum Race Group website at www.MomentumRaceGroup.com.  MRG is supported by the following sponsors: Oakland University, Monster Graphix, AmSource Capital, Safety-Kleen, Vogtland Autosport, Sparco USA, Cars by Kris, and Camaroz28.com.

Momentum Race Group, Godstone Ranch Motorsports, and Karen Garrett confirmed today LRPG and Banner Racing will run the #07 Corvette “heart” car at the Rolex Grand Prix of Miami dressed in the stunning victory red livery of the Texas Heart Institute. To punctuate the weekend’s charity effort, Godstone Ranch announced it will also partner with Momentum Race Group of Dallas on the #05 Riley Camaro GS entry in the Continental Tire Homestead 200. Both entries will benefit Houston’s Texas Heart Institute. Despite an early end to Godstone Ranch Motorsports’ effort at the 2010 Rolex 24, the team’s real success was measured by the overwhelming response to the “heart” car and the team’s primary aim of highlighting Texas Heart Institute’s groundbreaking stem cell research.
